Inside the Head of a Night Owl

I'm no cartoonist. Actually, that's an understatement.

Once when he was a toddler, my son asked me to draw a train for him and what I drew was so bad he started crying and wailing: "That's not a train! That's a pig car!"

Nevertheless, I know that not everyone out there is a night owl like me so I wanted to give them a little glimpse into what we're thinking. Every single night.

Inside the Head of a Night Owl -- Do you ever have nights like this? Can you relate?  {posted @ Unremarkable Files}

  1. Haha my hubby is yelling at me at 10pm to come up! I would stay up too. However now I'm suffering from a bit of insomnia so I wish I was in bed by 9.30! Hope you not too tired today xx #theteuthabout

  2. Haha love this not too shabby on the cartoon front at all. I am the opposite of a night owl so now I finally understand what is going on in your heads!

  5. Haha "great, now I'm hungry." That's me as soon as I lay down in bed, especially when the next day is fast Sunday.

You're a better artist than me. I drew a river one time on the board while teaching the 9 year olds in primary. Someone asked why there was bacon on the board.

    1. Hey I can see the similarities, and the waves looking like fat streaks... I'll never look at a river the same way again!

  6. I can indeed relate, although recently I have been (almost) managing the 10pm thing. It took complete exhaustion to get me doing it though :) #sharewithme

    1. I hope you keep it up! For a period of a few months I really did get in the habit and was in bed at 10 almost every night, and then Phillip went on a business trip and it was immediately back to 2am for me... I have no self-discipline!

    1. My life as far back as when I was a teenager! I wish I could blame it all on blogging. Now I just have more excuses to stay up late.

    1. Has your drawing ever made one of your kids cry?? If not, you're doing better than I am.

  9. I would say you nailed it exactly - speaking from one night owl to another. Thanks for comic strip.. I'd say you've come a long way from the pig car days :) Great drawings! Stopping by from Faith Filled Friday

  11. HaHa! I SO know this! I know this when it's more than just bedtime, I know it practically all the time. It's worse at night though. I try not to really 'work' at night much because it's almost never ending lol :)

    1. It's pretty dangerous to start working at night, because I'll never be "done." So in all likelihood, I'll never go to bed, either!

  12. This is so ME every night. I am awful. Night time is the only time I have to get things done while my tots sleep so it's late ones for me. I am always that way about 1:30 am I finally get up to go to bed and then feel hungry. hahahah Can relate so much. Thank you ever so much for linking up to Share With Me #sharewithme

  13. I am trying to be a reformed night owl. If I get in bed by midnight, I'm early!

    1. I used to be that way, but I don't think in the recent past I've stayed up past 11:30 as often. Still just as tired though, due to being pregnant and having to get kids up for school in the morning!

  14. I have always been in the habit of going to bed with my husband at a reasonalble time, but sometimes I think I should stay up and get something accomplished.

    1. I wish I could do that! Phillip often stays up too late waiting for me... or sometimes we go to bed at a decent hour but then I think of "just one thing" I have to write down or do, so I get up and before I know it 3 hours have passed. He's sound asleep so he has no idea, don't tell him!
